Builds for ePO administrators and 64-bit platforms are listed below

Description

On-demand removal of thousands of common infections and 'false alert' malware is possible with McAfee Stinger. It isn't a full-fledged antivirus, but it comes in helpful in a variety of scenarios. Stinger is updated numerous times a week to incorporate detection for newer Fake Alert variations and prominent viruses, while it is not a replacement for full-fledged antivirus software. Note that suspicious and infected files will be quarantined at C:QuarantineStinger, and a database for the currently scanned PC in that directory will be generated. Other apps should be closed before scanning with McAfee Stinger, as it may cause other apps, such as FileZilla, to close, potentially resulting in data loss. To run, McAfee Stinger requires administrative privileges.

McAfee Stinger is a stand-alone program that detects and eliminates certain infections. It's not meant to be a replacement for complete antivirus protection, but rather a specialized solution to help administrators and users cope with infected systems. The Readme details for each Stinger build include information on new or upgraded signatures.

Real Protect, a real-time behavior detection solution that monitors suspicious behaviour on an endpoint, is now included in Stinger. Real Protect detects zero-day malware in real time using machine learning and automatic behavioral-based classification in the cloud.
